Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2020 is taking place this week. In the wake of the CV, the week-long event will be fully virtual this year.

What's New With iOS?

The WWDC kicked off with a keynote from Apple CEO, Tim Cook, who announced the new iOS 14 release. iOS 14 is packed with new features such as Translate, an app that intelligently detects the language being spoken. The picture on picture feature allows you to access other apps on your iPhone while watching a video. Siri, Maps, Messages, and Carplay have been updated as well.

Big Sur, the biggest update on macOS after macOS10, was announced as well - named after the rugged region in California. The 11th generation macOS Core features new notification layouts. The mac app icons have changed to resemble iPadOS, and Safari has many refined updates.

A sleep tracking feature has finally been added to the watch OS. Along with other new updates, the automatic detection of handwashing that starts a 20-second timer has been added as well. 
Addressing an empty auditorium, Cookannounced Apple's plan on switching to its own processor called ‘Apple Silicon’. The first-ever Mac with Apple Silicon is set to release at the end of 2020. However, Apple will continue to release their products with Intel processors.
